Memory Speed

Memory Speed is a "Cognitive-Load" arcade game focusing on "Sequential Pattern Recognition." The technical core is "Working Memory Testing," requiring the player to encode and recall increasingly complex visual-spatial sequences under time pressure. Unlike standard "Simon Says" clones, the interval between display and input shrinks dynamically, forcing "Chunking" strategies.

You are presented with a grid of tiles. The game flashes a sequence of tiles. Your goal is to repeat the pattern exactly. Interaction is "Tap-to-Repeat." The sequence grows by one step each round (N+1). You have a "Recall Timer." If you tap the wrong tile or run out of time, the game ends. Difficulty scales by introducing larger grids (3×3→4×4) and faster flash rates.

Achieving "Eidetic" status depends on "Pattern Chunking." Do not remember individual tiles. Group them into "Shapes" or "Vectors" (e.g., "Triangle," "L-Shape," "Zig-Zag"). A pro strategy is "Audio-Visual Association"—assign a mental sound or number to each grid quadrant to create a "Multi-Sensory Anchor," significantly extending your retention span beyond the average 7-item limit.
